PokerStars’ Winter Series Schedule Revealed, $40M GTD

PokerStars Winter Series

PokerStars has just released the schedule of its Winter Series tournament, an event that promises to warm you up in the cold of December.

With 2018 nearly out, people would think that there’s no poker action to be had. Thankfully, PokerStars defies this idea with the introduction of the Winter Series – the warmest event in December. With the schedule just released, you have a chance to rake in staggering amounts of cash while investing as little as $0.55 at a time.

The festival will run for a few weeks, allowing you to become part of PokerStars’ own Christmas and New Year celebrations, with the first round of events kicking off on Sunday, December 23.  There will be plenty to do very soon. The festival will continue through Monday, January 7, 2019. A proper way to meet the New Year sitting on top of a pile of cash.

The events are quite awesome by themselves. With the full schedule announced we were able to glance through the prize pools, and we’ve seen tournaments paying as little as $5,000 and as much as $1 million. The prizing money are distributed between several $200,000 – $250,000 and $500,000 events as well, which is quite tempting.

You might be thinking – how much exactly has PokerStars invested in this Christmas miracle? The answer is a lot. The card room has promised $85 million in guaranteed prizes over the entire course of the Winter Series and associated events, with a total of 60 tournaments spread over 16 days.

In light of the recent MILLIONS tournament hosted by partypoker, PokerStars want to demonstrate that it can easily rev up the numbers itself. The previous edition of the Winter Series featured rewards to the tune of $40 million, with the amount growing significantly since.

Of course, festivities are to be expected. You can enjoy a number of tantalizing events, including Turbo and Hyper Turbo competitions alongside many Christmas Eve and New Years Eve specials. The $0.55 buy-ins will be tempting, but you needn’t wait for the actual tournament when you can in fact get started with a handful of Spin & Go qualifiers right this moment.

All qualifying events will have a modest $2.50 buy-in and if you are interested in phase competitions, then it helps to know that you can benefit from $3.5 million in guaranteed prizing money for these exact same competitions.

Severin Rasset, Head of Innovation at PokerStars, spoke on the occasion of the announcement, expressing his hopes that the community will enjoy the tournament that has been prepared. Mr. Rasset has been the face of PokerStars for a long while now, from announcing each new feature to breaking news about technological innovation, such as the company’s forays in virtual reality.

More tournament will be featured at the massive 16-day festival. Players will get a chance to play at a number of high-roller events, though the buy-ins will be slightly larger, sitting at $500. If you are in a hurry, the Turbo Series will allow you to enjoy poker, bag a quick buck and head out for the festivities with your friends & family.

With a number of multi-tables Sit & Go’s and Spin & Go’s, the poker bonanza that lies ahead is quite captivating and PokerStars is right to be excited.
