Known for its support of poker, the Unibet Open is an event that easily draws hundreds of participants across Europe. Now, a new destination beckons.

With a fair bit of events under its belt, the Unibet Open will hit Romania with yet another event that will be worth gamers’ while. This year, the tournament hosts are partnering with the known faces from PokerFest to bring the competition to one of the snowy mountain tops of the country at the Sinaia resort.

Apart from focusing on poker alone, the organizers want to see participants entertain themselves to treats that are not necessarily related to the game. Meanwhile, the competition itself will be brought in the best tradition of the tournament series.

If you are familiar with the Bucharest Open, then you will certainly have heard about PokerFest before, as they are the local partners for Unibet. From Belgium to Romania, the Open series represent a dedicated effort to find local talent and give them an opportunity to compete closer to home.

Naturally, applications from all over the place will be accepted. Though the hosts have released very little information with regards to the upcoming competition in terms of events, we already know that the snowy festival will feature a €2,200 High Roller Event and an exciting main competition with a €1,100 entry fee.

Slated for February 12 through February 18, the festival will certainly come with a few more treats that will accommodate gamers who are less prepared to face the hefty buy-ins. We’ve found out a bit about the schedule, too, though, so you will definitely get the idea at a glance.

February 12 will mark the players’ arrival, followed by Day 1 on February 14. The following two days are listed just as regular events, with February 17 earmarked for the finals, most likely related to the Main Event, too.

Unibet will not expect you to climb the snowy mountain tops on your own either, with the company arranging transportation from and to the airport. Once everyone has arrived, there will be plenty to do. Non-skiers and those who yearn for culture and exploration will have a wealth of architecturally tantalizing villas, castles, bars and the like to explore on their own time.

Meanwhile, Unibet Open Event Head, Nataly Sopacuaperu, has commented on the growing popularity of winter poker festivals.

We are incredibly excited to be holding our first Unibet Open ski edition. Winter sports poker festivals have become incredibly popular in recent years and we are delighted to be able to be visiting beautiful Sinaia to launch our exciting Unibet Open 2019 schedule.

PokerFest were also quite excited at the news. They mentioned that Romania is a destination that offers low travelling costs, which immediately means that whoever wants to participate will never have to worry about the out-of-pocket expenses. Not to mention that Unibet have taken care about much of the transportation themselves.

The February festival in Sinaia will be exactly this: hot poker action in an old historical city and also one of the most renowned and splendid Romanian mountain resorts

The poker festival promises to be spot on. With a blend of cultural experience and competitive card gaming, Unibet Open is changing the scenery.
